What is your story? Or in other words, what made you your awesome self you are
What made me my awesome self today was accepting that I was in fact awesome. And
I didn’t come to this conclusion that long ago! Lol! I hit rock bottom just 4 years ago at
age 45. A situation happened in my personal life that I was not prepared for. It sent me
into a massive depression that lasted 6 months, and for about 3 weeks during that time
I was suicidal. I was in so much pain when I looked at my life at that moment in time. I
had a failed business. I was in debt. And my marriage was now in the pooper. It was
too much to handle. Having dealt with depression for almost 20 years and a life filled
with unnecessary drama…I figured I’d had enough. But within me was some very
strong…and apparently stubborn…resilience…and I slowly worked my way out of the
depression, changed who I was, aligned myself with my truth and stepped into my
What message do you promote?
Humans are awesome. You have unlimited potential. You are amazing. You are
incredible. You are worth it.
In what capacity do you LEAD UP in your community?
I teach people to get beyond their limiting beliefs and change negative habits and
behaviors. I’ve worked with seniors and teens. I have worked with the Girl Scouts of CT.
I’ve worked with parents of mentally ill kids/adults. I have worked with low income
communities teaching kids and parents about Mindfulness practice. I tell anyone who
will listen how amazing they are…so if you sit next to me for more than 5
minutes…you’ve been warned!
In business and/or in life, share a struggle you overcame that other women can relate
I failed at business and struggled financially for years because I felt that I wasn’t worthy
enough to be successful or financially free. I managed to marry two men (not at the same time…lol) that were mentally abusive and sex addicts, enduring years of
manipulation and infidelity (first marriage I was young and stupid for 8 years…he’ll
change…the second marriage I was blindsided, having no clue for 14 years). I felt like a failure in every aspect of my life, except for my children.
Did you have a Mentor, Coach or Sponsor along the way that was essential to your
growth and success? If so, who was it and why? I didn’t have a specific Coach in the
beginning. I began following a couple of different Speakers/Coaches and attended their
live workshops, as well as their online workshops. The two dominant individuals at that
time were Dr. Joe Dispenza and Lisa Nichols. Lisa was just so strong and dynamic and
sincere. She was (and still is) such a strong female presence and she was also funny.
Dr. Joe got deep into the science element, which I totally resonated with. He was all about the brain and the mind. We had the same background and similar training and he
helped my analytical mind understand what I had learned so many years earlier about
Mindfulness practice, self help and the human potential.
What is the most rewarding aspect of what you do?
When a client or student hits that shift point or has a massive breakthrough. To see
them release trauma or let go of their self-sabotaging beliefs and finally see
possibilities. And then when they experience what they created or when they start
receiving incredible signs from the Universe and you hear the emotion in their voice and
see it in their face, the energy they give off when they are ready to step into their
greatness is incredible. I am so grateful to be a part of their journey.
If you could give one piece of advice for the women who are entering the workforce or
launching their own business what would that be?
Be your authentic self. Align yourself with your truth. Trust in the process. Surrender to
the Universe and open yourself up to all opportunities and possibilities. And no you
don’t need to go hug a tree…unless that’s in your practice to do so!
